Research Associate, Executive Search Job Description

Objective: Collect and analyze information about prospective candidates and/or clients in order to complete the search process according to our clients’ specifications and guidelines and those set forth by the Associate, Senior Associate, Practice Director, Partner, or Managing Partner.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Research and identify prospective target companies or “source lists” by which the successful candidate could be located.
  2. Research Executive Management Group’s proprietary database in order to obtain relevant information necessary about prospective source lists and/or candidates in order to initiate the search process.
  3. Successfully collect any and all biographical data about respective candidates by either direct contact or through published articles, books, magazines or websites about said candidates in order to help management qualify said candidates’ credentials relative to our clients’ needs.
  4. Prescreen and qualify candidates on behalf of the search assignments given to Executive Management Group by our customers.
  5. Organize and set appointments between Executive Management Group and our respective clients/candidates when requested by our management.
  6. Participate in any and all interviews, meetings, and conference calls between Executive Management Group and our respective clients and/or candidates.
  7. Draft emails, or any letters of correspondence to clients and/or candidates.

Secondary Functions:

  1. Research and analyze any relevant information regarding current and/or future market trends regarding the specific vertical industries Executive Management Group is currently engaged in.
  2. Research and analyze any relevant information regarding current and/or future market trends regarding the executive search industry.
  3. Research and collect any and all relevant biographical information regarding prospective candidates published publicly in newspapers, magazines, newsletters, books, websites, etc.
  4. General administrative and clerical functions in support of our clients’ efforts and those of Executive Management Group’s.

Objective: Initiate, facilitate and consummate engagement between client and candidate.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Prospect and foster new relationships with venture capitalists, corporations, board members, and any other person(s) of hiring authority in order to develop new business ventures with such individuals and/or firms.
  2. Perform needs analysis on behalf of the customer. Customize and develop search methodology and requirements to conform to client’s expectations and needs.
  3. Drive the research process. Empower and direct the research team to identify prospective target companies or “source lists” by which the successful candidate could be located.
  4. When necessary, research Executive Management Group’s proprietary database to obtain relevant information necessary about prospective source lists and/or candidates to initiate the search process.
  5. When necessary, successfully collect any and all biographical data about respective candidates by either direct contact or through published articles, books, magazines, or websites about said candidates in order to qualify said candidates’ credentials relative to our clients’ needs.
  6. Successfully analyze and disseminate any and all biographical data gathered by self or research team with respect to candidates’ credentials and present such findings to either internal or external authorities.
